some days the line i walk turns out to be straight

i'm keeping my church job. that much i know now. my little poll and your comments helped me decide - especially bonibaru's which made me think and argue and realize just how much i want to keep the job. but even if you lot had failed to convince me, yesterday may have done it. yesterday should have been annoying. the choir didn't sing in the service but i had to be there anyway to lead an extra catch up rehearsal for the mozart and go to the 'commitment' luncheon afterward to lead the choir in a little song. it should have been annoying because it meant sitting through the service when i wasn't actually working.

other days the line tends to deviate

many many things to do today and this week. must keep track.

- program notes for sunday. this may involve a trip to the bu library to visit my old friend the new grove ::sniffle:: it's been so long!
- secure string players for sunday. one violin ain't gonna cut it. need to make calls and offer money.
- secure trumpet player for easter service
- get tix for tonight's brahms requiem at symphony hall
- assemble information on the mass for the frickin minsiter who actually asked me what the text of a mass was (way to go, harvard divinty school!)
- balance check book, make bank deposit
- clean bathroom

damnit. i know there are more things i thought of recently but didn't write down. eekeek! chaos!

i came here alone and i'm going to leave by myself

and in fandom-related news, ivy's dark-fic has left me in a bit of a tailspin. i've never before had the kind of urge i'm having now to really sit down and analyze and spend hours writing serious feedback. given my recently published list of things to do, that seems an unlikely possibility. alas. but i can't stop thinking about it! nyyyeh. about ginny and victimization and gender and camara laye etc etc blah blah.

whew.

picture has been cracking me up since i found it among my dad's photos the other day. it's me, at camp, circa age 15. kinhaven music camp. we had to wear all white at our weekly performances. we never wore shoes. i broke my toe. the things i love about this picture: my gi-normous hair. my copious black eyeliner, the way i have transferred my teenage love of baby doll dresses and funky tights to an all-white ensemble, the look of concentration on my face. heheh.
