kayaking, PoA and a shout out to scott

so, instead of canoeing, it was kayaking yesterday. and it was lovely. we had one tandem and one solo kayak and we switched around so we all got to try both. fun stuff. the river was extremely calm, it was as easy to row downstream as up. we stopped by a railroad bridge for a picnic and were eaten alive by mosquitoes. i, rather unfortunately, had to pee in the woods and thus was bitten in rarely seen places.

we went back to lauren and claire’s afterward. their house is amazing. amazing. beautiful. huge. three floors they share with two other women. and gorgeous. and i feel stupid now for being so negative about claire lately bc we had a really good time and it was fun to be with her. she and lauren are both dating cute girls… and that makes them, and me, happy. we watched The Worst Movie Ever Made, also known as the smokers. whatever you do, do not ever spend your money on this movie. it ran the gamut – stupid, poorly written, unbelievably offensive, poorly acted… you name it. it was painful to watch. ugh. what a waste of time and money.

have been inspired by sirius/remus and starbuckle’s hp enthusiasm to re-read PoA. again. and i’m already sucked in. i love this book. ::sigh::

oh! and everyone say hi to scottxwl. crazily enough, it’s another rl friend joining the lj world… along with hominidj, he’s one of the few people in the world i don’t mind knowing me in both places…

scrub scrub scrub

turns out this is house cleaning day. came on just like that, with no warning. now we have a clean kitchen floor! it's practically a different color.

still musing over the fact that scottxwl used the word 'enigma' to describe me. ::chuckle:: i feel like i am as open a book as there could be. ask me and i'll tell you just about anything. yup. he, however, is a mystery to me. always has been. hmmm. i think we are people who respond to the world in very different ways. perhaps that is why we are befuddled by each other. but, really, perhaps we are not as different as it once seemed.

am looking forward to tomorrow - a day mostly to myself. i have to go to my parents to check on the kitties since they are away. thus i plan to make good use of the cable modem to catch up on slash lists - s/r and lotr rps... and troll around looking for anything worth reading. have not had the time for this since coming home. ::sigh::
