“I can’t help but wonder…” Willow murmurs, “How my life would have been different if I were born here.”

“Well… basically, you’d have been me. Clever and powerful, best friend to a destiny-ridden hero, survivor of more loved ones than you’d care to count. Still fighting. Always fighting.”

“You make it sound so glamorous.” Willow smiles. “Still, if i had had real training… there were some things I probably wouldn’t have done, some time I would have saved…”

“You’re thinking of her aren’t you?” Hermione asks, smoothing Willow’s hair.

“Yes.”

“Do you ever… Could you, ever… think of me?”

“Yes.”

That's gorgeous...and so moving, too. I definitely see their parallel situations, and love the quiet tenderness of the scene.

the whole buffy-hp thing, all their similarities and all... they just fit so well together. i mean, willow and hermione? i love how they're the brainy sidekicks but so different in what they do with that. willow starting out all meek and hermione being so bold and brave.
