here's a question. with what character from a non-hp fandom would you slash remus? post-ootp is what i'm asking for here (because the only way i candle handle remus not with sirius is if sirius is most definitely out of the proverbial picture.) i wrote an epic remus/bran (dark is rising) in my head. and i've seen some remus/giles suggestions. and then prillalar just mentioned fantasies of wes at hogwarts and whoa, my brain exploded. bc um. remus/wes? would be hot. would be... yeah. would be good. so who else? viggo? ahahaha. oooh! bernard!

yes. i agree and i disagree. you know they're my otp. but sirius dies. and remus is still so young when he dies. and i love remus so much i can't let him just be mournful for the rest of his life. it took me a while to get here, but now i'm at a place where i want more possibilities for him. but sirius would always, always be a part of the equation in some way. the remus/bran i wanted to write was really all about remus dealing with sirius being gone. and they (remus and bran) didn't end up together in the end.

i have a much harder time with the idea that remus would have been with anyone (fling or no) while sirius was in azkaban. it seems unrealistic to claim that he wasn't... it was a looong time.

and also, any post-ootp remus pairing for me has to be crossover. i can't stand the idea of remus being with anyone sirius knew... especially snape - who would seem the obvious choice. so, all my thought on this have him going somewhere else, far away, and encountering someone from a completely different world.

well, there was enough ambiguity for futurefic that aren't even AU. and i have no trouble with x-isn't-dead AUs, either. but in the hp-verse: 1) ghosts exist. 2) lots of things are magical. maybe after his work here is done, remus will sneak into the department of secrets and throw himself through the doorway.

yeah. i agree that it's been left unclear and open. but for my own emotional health, i'm going with him being dead. because if we find out he isn't... or that there's some way for remus to be in touch with him, then great! i will do a dance of joy. however, if i go along thinking that he's not really gone, that it's somehow going to be ok and then it isn't, that would suck more than i can handle. so, for me, he's dead. and if i'm wrong, i'll be elated.

but actually the whole thing ends in harry's seventh year. if we hear nothing more that isn't the same as hearing that he is.
