here's a question. with what character from a non-hp fandom would you slash remus? post-ootp is what i'm asking for here (because the only way i candle handle remus not with sirius is if sirius is most definitely out of the proverbial picture.) i wrote an epic remus/bran (dark is rising) in my head. and i've seen some remus/giles suggestions. and then
prillalar just mentioned fantasies of wes at hogwarts and whoa, my brain exploded. bc um. remus/wes? would be hot. would be... yeah. would be good. so who else? viggo? ahahaha. oooh! bernard!

He can hear no sound but the birds in the surrounding trees and leaves rustling in the slight breeze. When he reaches out with all his senses, he is overwhelmed suddenly with the scent that radiates from Viggo; earthy, bitter like the herbs in the tea, sweaty and just... manly, Remus thinks.
"How did you see me? I mean, why didn't I..." Remus waves his hands about, unsure of just what Viggo knows.
"Attack me?" Viggo finishes, "I can avoid be seen when I want to." He's grinning now and Remus doesn't understand what could possibly be funny about this.
"Then are you... are you a wizard?"
Viggo's laugh is loud and sudden, bark-like, and Remus starts slightly to hear it cut through the calm of the forest.
Re:

Remus tries to recover quickly, although his mind boggles at keeping the secret of the wizarding world from a man who has just seem him transform and is completely unphased by it. Viggo tilts his head, waiting for Remus to finish. "I'm not sure what I mean."
"I know the land well," Viggo says, brushing the back of his hand over his forehead in a gesture that looks very much like concealment. "Instinct," he adds.
Remus knows all about instinct, but he has the feeling that this man means something quite different.
Remus looks away, and rolls his shoulders in a half-hearted stretch; he can still taste the tea Viggo had given him and he considers asking if there is any more to be had. He waits instead for Viggo to say something else, but it seems that he is conserving words.
Remus says, "It's so quiet here." Viggo comes to stand beside him, and cranes his neck to look up into the trees, as if looking for some unspoken meaning in what Remus had said. Remus watches Viggo's throat as he swallows, and imagines he can see Viggo's pulse.
"Now, are you hungry?" Viggo turns to him and whispers, as though sharing a secret, and Remus realizes just how close they are standing.
Re:

He doesn't move right away, just stands, smiling, his shoulder a few inches from Remus's. The silence extends long enough that Remus begins to wonder whether he has misunderstood the question.
Viggo seems not to notice that time is passing, that no one is speaking. It's like time moves differently for him, like even his breathing is slow. It doesn't make Remus nervous so much as it makes him hyper-aware. He has time in these extended pauses to hear and smell and squint against the bright sunlight. He can feel the blood moving through his veins. He can feel heat eminating from Viggo's skin and see sunlight glinting in his eyes. He can feel a twist in the hollow of his stomach and yes, he feels hungry.
Re:

Viggo speaks without looking back at Remus. "If you want me to be talking about food, then believe I am talking about food. Tell me you're hungry for an omelet. Sun-dried tomatoes. Apples." The words bounce off the tree trunks and bombard Remus, hitting harder than they should.
"I don't want any food," Remus answers.
"What are you hungry for, then?" Viggo asks, turning back toward him, making an open gesture with his palms facing up, as if offering Remus a second chance at the question.
"I'm haunted," Remus says quietly, looking out into the forest, searching for the words. "Ghosts. Of my friends. One ghost in particular."
"Ghosts," Viggo says solemnly. "And so what is it that I can give you?"
"You're real," Remus answers, and without pause Viggo steps forward and kisses him.
