conclusions from a day well spent...

phineasjonesyesterday was a good day for arriving at conclusions. such as:
i adore my friend judy. even when she is miserable and in pain, she is extremely fun to be around. she brightened my mood considerably. and she has decided to move in with us for a while. wow.
nice people make me happy. a random comment in support of my journal also cheered me yesterday.
i am a huge dork and there's no escaping it. so, went to video store, returned movies and ... there it was. ::choir sings angelic chords:: the dvd. holding it in my little paws, standing in line to pay, i could not stop myself from grinning madly. it only got worse once i'd paid and was headed to my car... a huge, toothy smile. i was practically peeing with excitement. oh... i can not wait to watch every last minute.
i have no desire to participate in mediocre music-making anymore. i mean, i'm not a total snob. sometimes it's fun to just let loose and have a good time with a tune. but, if your supposed goal is excellent music... right. it's one thing if i'm in control and doing all i can to make the music as good as it can be... but if some incompetent person is in control... i'm outta there. no stomach for it anymore. i hate to say this, it tears me up inside, by i truly miss dr. jones (otherwise known as the cold hearted bitch who was my professor). bitch, yes. amazing conductor, also yes. and now i know what matters more to me.
so now, today... interview time. ::gulp:: hello, i am completely competent and mature. how are you?

I came to a similar conclusion a few years ago... both sad and liberating at the same time. (Sometimes I think you and I are very nearly the same person. Kind of scary.)
SO jealous that you get to watch the LOTR DVD!

Julian came home last night to find me watching one of the things on the LOTR dvd and was shocked. "Scott! You insisted we had to wait until the weekend!" "But it's just the video game preview, Julian." Whimper.
