ok, what kind of mood-altering beverage would better enable me to write h/d? coffee? or wine? what do you think?

Well, I don't drink coffee, so I can't comment on that score, though I do find a strong cup of tea lends me greater mental acuity sometimes. But I have written H/D while drinking wine, and that just leads to all sorts of fun. So I vote for wine. :D

i associate tea with bedtime. so it never works to wake me up, even when it's highly caffeinated. i went with the wine... and didn't get the writing done. alas.
