Well, I don't drink coffee, so I can't comment on that score, though I do find a strong cup of tea lends me greater mental acuity sometimes. But I have written H/D while drinking wine, and that just leads to all sorts of fun. So I vote for wine. :D

my theory is that you only get on aim for 30 seconds at a time. i got this message... then got on aim shortly afetward and you were gone! :( alas, you will have to join us for random, stupid fun some other time. :)

i associate tea with bedtime. so it never works to wake me up, even when it's highly caffeinated. i went with the wine... and didn't get the writing done. alas.

yeah.. it's true, i tend to stay on for only a litte bit, like to see if anybody else is on, and then i disconnect, because i worry about taking up the phoneline.. which is kind of silly at midnight, because mostly everybody's asleep. but you never know! what if R is desperate to go online and read some good fic... no wait, that's me. *grin*
