phineasjonesugh. i feel like ass. right, so, no little angel appeared on my shoulder yesterday to tell me not to drink that big iced coffee at 5 pm. it seemed like a perfectly logical thing to do at the time, as i was wilting and tired in the nastiness of heat and humidity. so... no sleep for me. almost literally. maybe some sleep. but i know i was up at 1 and i know i was up at 4 and i know i spent much of the rest of the time tossing and turning and trying not to stress about being awake. and now i feel awful.
i must have slept at some point though, bc i had another sad dream. but this one was funny sad. my dad decided to put on a variety show. i had to help by playing violin to back up someone's song. the song sucked and the person kept screwing up and i was pissed because he couldn't count. the whole show flopped. when it was over, people just left without applauding. i felt so bad for my father. so bad.
this has been an odd few nights as i rarely remember dreams at all.
the good news of my weekend is that we now have 3 out of 5 rooms completely unpacked, cleaned and decorated. this makes life feel different - and generally better. and i think i will show my appreciation for the clean bedroom by going to take a nap in it. this should be particularly delightful as last night's thunderstorm broke the heat and humidity and now it's lovely and cool. i think i'll take my current book to nap with me. just started last night, em forster's the longest journey. so far, v. much like other em forster.

i was thinking i'd really like to see y'all sometime soon. julian and sarah, i know you have a crazy schedule going on... is there any time that would work for the three of you for rach and i (or just me, if it's during the week) to visit? not stay over, so much, as just a day/evening visit. what do you think?
