lumpy

you wouldn't really thing a little soreness and irritation in the ear-nose-throat area would require lying around like a lump all day, would you? well, maybe it doesn't. but that's what i've been doing. call me indulgent. but it hasn't been all that enjoyable, unfortunately. lying around should be good, but the icky sick feeling gets in the way, damnit.

i finally read the latest chapter of malfoy pi just now. (came out in december, don't know why i didn't read it then). i must say, i thoroughly enjoy that story but the wait between chapters is a bit ridiculous. i can never remember what's happened in previous chapters and i don't have any good sense of dramatic tension as a result. but it's a good concept and well-carried out, i'll give her that.

mmm. people will be home soon. i wonder if i'll have to get off the couch. ::slump::

ok, well, i debated with myself for a while about whether to rec [livejournal.com profile] cimorene111's stories. not because they don't deserve reccing, oh no. because i can't imagine there's anyone out there who hasn't read them already. and ::waves:: cim will likely read this and that's a little weird. but, without cim's stories, it's quite possible i never would have found my way into this fandom (as i suspect is true for some others as well) and not including them in recs of Lotrips Classics According to Phineas would be both negligent and bizarre. and, on the off chance that any of you haven't read them, it would be wise to do so as soon as you find yourself able.

ok, the story that got me into rps is: burn. it's long, gorgeous and angsty like you've never known angstiness before. it's elijah/sean a - a pairing i can't really handle anymore personally, but this story is the exception. did i mention the angst?

then, a somewhat connected story - tennessee. actually, this one sort of comes before burn i think... sort of. yes, anyway, it's viggo/orli. interesting format. angst but not to the same degree. characterization that works for this pair, for a delightful change. and, right, also very hot.

ack! next i was about to rec and link to fantasy but it's not there! i'm getting lame error messages. no worries, i'm sure you can find it at beyond the fellowship. it's my favorite pairing! whee!!! dom/billy fluffy, angsty, sexy goodness. not as long and involved as the others, but oh so good and satisfying.

and last, but not at all least, delirium. dom/elijah. more with the angst (and this is always a good thing imo). this is one of those stories in which the sex is central to the plot - not just a pleasant diversion. i love when the rare author does this successfully, as it is done here. recently, [livejournal.com profile] silviakundera said one of the bestest things about Cimorene's writing is when she makes you as woozy and befuddled as the characters are and i wondered if she was talking about this story.

so, there are some more, but these are the ones i need to rec. cim's site is here and you really can't go wrong.
