ok, well, i debated with myself for a while about whether to rec [livejournal.com profile] cimorene111's stories. not because they don't deserve reccing, oh no. because i can't imagine there's anyone out there who hasn't read them already. and ::waves:: cim will likely read this and that's a little weird. but, without cim's stories, it's quite possible i never would have found my way into this fandom (as i suspect is true for some others as well) and not including them in recs of Lotrips Classics According to Phineas would be both negligent and bizarre. and, on the off chance that any of you haven't read them, it would be wise to do so as soon as you find yourself able.

ok, the story that got me into rps is: burn. it's long, gorgeous and angsty like you've never known angstiness before. it's elijah/sean a - a pairing i can't really handle anymore personally, but this story is the exception. did i mention the angst?

then, a somewhat connected story - tennessee. actually, this one sort of comes before burn i think... sort of. yes, anyway, it's viggo/orli. interesting format. angst but not to the same degree. characterization that works for this pair, for a delightful change. and, right, also very hot.

ack! next i was about to rec and link to fantasy but it's not there! i'm getting lame error messages. no worries, i'm sure you can find it at beyond the fellowship. it's my favorite pairing! whee!!! dom/billy fluffy, angsty, sexy goodness. not as long and involved as the others, but oh so good and satisfying.

and last, but not at all least, delirium. dom/elijah. more with the angst (and this is always a good thing imo). this is one of those stories in which the sex is central to the plot - not just a pleasant diversion. i love when the rare author does this successfully, as it is done here. recently, [livejournal.com profile] silviakundera said one of the bestest things about Cimorene's writing is when she makes you as woozy and befuddled as the characters are and i wondered if she was talking about this story.

so, there are some more, but these are the ones i need to rec. cim's site is here and you really can't go wrong.

hiya, phin! just thought i'd mention that burn was the story that landed me in rps land, too. it was a random rec that i found, when i was still closeted-ly, vaguely interested in this slash world... and it led to two nights of computer-eye-burn and pretending i wasn't home- i remember holding my breath and closing my eyes when someone knocked, as if they could detect my guilty bliss. and then there were dreams, oh dreams! this fic knocked my socks off and from then on, there was no escape. so so so glad someone else was as profoundly moved by its beauty!!

yes, i've been meaning to say that this doesn't surprise me at all - that this was the story that snagged you too. i spent i think one entire friday - when i didn't have class and rach was at work, stuck to the computer... until my body ached and then i printed out the rest but didn't stop reading. yes, i was moved. still am, even if cim makes fun of it a little. she calls the angst-muppets. yeah. true enough. and it's sooooo good. :)

and i wondered if she was talking about this story.

ha! I was.

(and, well, was also thinking of the first dizzying time I read "Implicit")
