nighty night

heee. m'still up. bad bad me. i have a staff meeting tomorrow too. but i just had to make my way through all of harrimad_sol's harry/ron recs. am still firm in my belief that the harry/ron has yet to be written. someone out there must understand the potential - the extreme angst of being in love with your best friend. most harry/ron seems to be excessively smutty (in the pwp way) or rather... juvenile. there are exceptions, i'm sure. just not many.

i wonder just what it is about h/d that it attracts all the good writers. i mean, it attracts me too. it is, ultimately, more exciting than h/r. but that doesn't mean there isn't some good h/r to be written. i'd like one that doesn't involve ron being girly. that would be nice.

ok, new topic! i mope about all that far too often. maybe my new topic should be bed. yes, going to it.

ok, after i tell this - that when we were at rach's friend flo's house, flo's friends were helping her re-dread some of her hair and it was apparently a difficult task. one of them pointed at her head and said 'dreadlockidus' and then laughed and mumbled something about harry potter. i wanted to jump up and be all yayay!! hp!! i got it! i understand! but all i did was smile into rach's shoulder. made me happy.

encounters with the minister

so, just got back from the church staff meeting. interesting moment at the end when it was just the minister and i. she's doing a service in february on relationships and intimacy... she was thinking some musical theater pieces might be appropriate...

her: since it's about intimacy and relationships, it would be great if we could have male/female duets.
me: inside: fuck you, again? we're supposed to be a gay friendly congregation yet every time we do anything about love or sex, it's totally male/female relationships that are displayed. but i won't say anything right now, i just want to get out of here
outwardly: ::unintentionally visible bristling:: yeah, great.
her: you don't like that idea?
me: no, it's good.
her: but you don't like something, what is it?
me: well... just because it's about relationships, doesn't me mean it has to be male/female.

the two things that bug me about this are:
1. disappointment in myself that i didn't just speak right up, that she had to push me to voice my valid criticism
2. why the fuck should i have to remind her of this? she's a UU minister sitting across from a lesbian. and this didn't even cross her mind? ergehrgeh. she makes me crazy.

just spent hours talking to camillafarfalla on the the phone using the handy headset so i could do some pre-thanksgiving cleaning at the same time. i guess you could call this pretty productive time. yes. good. now i have to clean out the fridge. bleh.

rehearsal tonight. to church twice in one day. there and back again. hmph.

um. just thinking... TWO TOWERS!!! damn that's coming soon. but not a moment too soon, no.

we're now looking at around 12 people here for thanksgiving. my dad, mom, eileen, my grandfather, hominidj, harrimad_sol, judymonkey, celina, celina's 2 friends, rach, me and possibly my grandfather's girlfriend. (i rather hope not, mean as that may sound. ugh.) should be good times. right, back to the cleaning.
