spent the night at my parents' house and watched last week and this week's buffys back to back.

i feel really manipulated about the whole giles thing. i mean, usually i don't mind being manipulated by this show, but this was so heavy handed and not so well resolved. the whole thing when he went to see the eye thingy with anya? where did that go? grmph.

kennedy however, is cuteness. we likes her.

and andrew. squeee!!! <3 where is the xander/andrew goodness?

hmm. i seem to be a little too sleepy for in depth commentary. i want the spike/buffy. i love tortured, angsty spike more than i can say. and i knew as soon as wood mentioned his mother being killed what was coming next. and that's just fine bc buffy clearly should be with spike anyway. right? right.

and i agree with seanarenay that the xander storyline tonight seemed... superfluous and made for a crowded plot. but i think the overall function had to do with anya's jealousy and i'm going to wait to see how that plays out. even if we all know xander would be happier in geeky, comic book reading, gay love with andrew.


well, one beta returned already. annelarissa said some very reassuring things. phew. and now thing calls to me. it whispers my name, sings to me, phiiiiiineas! reeeeeead me, phineas. here i come, oh lovely piece of fiction!

The eye thingy only gave one piece of information, and that was that The First was striking becausethere is something wrong with Buffy due to here return from the dead. This I'm sure will play out in the defeat of The First at the end of the season.

And the whole Wood/Spike thing is continued from Season 5, where Buffy asks Spike to tell her how he managed to kill two slayers (revealed way back in season 2) and they showed it in flashbacks, him battling Wood's mom in a subway train. Though I seem to remember her having a bigger, 70's style Afro. Though at the time we didn't know she had a child. And it is from her that Spike started wearing his long leather jacket. He took it off her body as a prize.

but... when they're at the eye thingy, giles is acting clearly freaky, and saying that the problem is that buffy is alive. yes, there's enough room there to wiggle out and say he didn't actually say they should kill her or anything but it was put there so we would all think giles is evil! and anya was freaked out. but then... not mention, not even when they were thinking he might be evil. i mean, i get it, but i think they were laying it on awfully thick to just suddenly turn around and have it be all hunky dory.

yeah, someone mentioned wood's mom having been one before - with a different actress... and it seemed like we were supposed to recognize her. i like wood's character, but he better not touch poor, tortured spike or... or... buffy will get him! yeah.

oh, and the leather coat thing is icky. :)

hey, have we seen him wearing said leather jacket at all this season? could he have done away with it in trying to purge his lil' soul? and was Mom a la First wearing said jacket? all these things would be cool. ::happy buffy thoughts::

hmm. i remember the blue shirt (his "costume") from earlier in the season, and he's been wearing a lot of different shirts lately, rawther tight... not that i've been paying that much attention. heh. no, i can't remember seeing him in that jacket! hmmm...

by the way, i'm so with you on the xander/andrew.
