chloe was pretty good at the vet's. she just did a lot of hissing and growling. i have no scars. a success.

it has been so hot here. sooooo hot. the sunlight, it makes pretty patterns through the trees. but it burns us, precious, it burnsssssssssss.

sunday was pride. we went out and were proud. there were a lot of weird floats (a lot of big corporate floats) but this was my favorite weird one. st. bernard rescue? well, heck, i'm glad their proud too. my pictures all make the parade look a little sad because of where we were standing. all the (limited) shade was on our side of the street so no one was standing on the other side. and the building on that side is all empty and closed down. so it looks rather deserted. but it wasn't! rach and i were feeling more denver love than usual due to seeing it filled with queers flaunting their queerness. we had fun until we just couldn't take the heat anymore.

and yes, denver. taken from the city and county building, which curves around and can been seen in the left edge of the picture. that was where i spent my day, along with hundreds of other potential jurors. i don't really mind that i had to go. or that i wasn't chosen. i just wish it hadn't take from 8:30 until 3:30 for them to decide they weren't going to take me. it was a seriously boring day.

with the exception of the book i was reading during my copious downtime. at swim, two boys. it's one of those books that makes me glad to be a slow reader. because i get to enjoy and savor it for so long. i'm kind of tearing up right now thinking about it. i'm close to the end and it's making me want to slow down even more. i don't want to leave these characters. so much love.
