lovely spring day in boulder, colorado.

i don't have much time for posting, sadly. we didn't finish out pre-rach's-mom's-visit house cleaning last night. so i have to get on that. meh.

i spent some time this afternoon coaching riikka on her english diction in some pieces she's singing. it... was extremely amusing. her english is really good but she just has a few stumbling blocks. like "sh" and "j" and "y" as a vowel. though her church choir loved it so much when she said "hoomina" for "hymn" that they didn't even point out to her what she was doing. anyway. i'm willing to bet the most amusing part of my day was sitting at a table in the campus center with riikka and encouraging her while she held her hands to her face, trying to relax her cheeks as she said "bosom" over and over again. boooooooooooooozzzzzzzum. ahahaha. so cute.

and then there was -
riikka: bosom. boooosom. like book?
me: yes! exactly!
riikka: like foot?
me: yeah, you got it!
riikka: like food?
me: ... um. nope.

poor thing. english is tough.

in other news, a rec. justbreathe80's ds_aprilfools contributions have all ben great but this one... this one is something special. it's fraser/smithbauer, when they're young. and it's just beautifully written. careful and elegant and a perfect picture of fraser at that age. it's so good! and it's here: fundamentals.
