so, judy has an appointment today that i'm driving her to. thinking, for some unknown reason, that the appointment was at 10, i got up, showered, ate, dressed, all those good things. and then i wondered why judy wasn't up yet. the appointment is at 1:30. ah. well. it's nice to be all up and ready and rarin' to go.

i'm feeling so domestic. woo! i think i will clean and bake and knit today. oh yeah, and do judy's laundry.

judy is telling me why she needs to go to hogwarts and also the love boat. she's making quite a bit of sense, really, and she looks so cute in her cookie monster pajamas.

so, i'm contemplating the slytherin scarf i'm going to make for [livejournal.com profile] starbuckle's birthday (it's not so much a surprise, heh). left to my own devices, i would move away from the movie scarf prototype this time. i think i would use chenilles. and i would make it a ribbed scarf instead of a tube scarf. so, jenny, what do you think? anyone else have an opinion? don't you think slytherins would have chenille scarves if they had the choice?

hi [livejournal.com profile] boixboi.

ok, i could see cashmere. but, as i am a vegan, i need a reasonable, non-animal derived substitute. do you think chenille would cut it? (also, it's shinier, and i think silver and forest green would be good shiny colors for)

they don't hurt the sheep when they take the wool? ::confused::

but anyway, as someone who is allergic to wool, i'd say that chenille is luxurious enough but might also be a bit too modern and nouveau riche for their tastes.

chenille can be acryllic.

good point about the modern bit though. i think i'm going to ignore it, but it's a good point.

ribbed chenille!

i would like to weigh in very strongly for the chenille. because it is indeed the perfect slytherin material, and not only that, would make an excellent ribbed scarf, which is oh-so-much-more slytherin-esque than any tubeyness. tubes are for gryffindors!

one more point: chenille slithers very nicely.

as i cannot fruitfully contribute to this discussion, i will say only this: yes.

which means there will be much birthday squee-ing on my part no matter what style/material this delightful non-surprise present turns out to be.

la la la. ;)

ok, well, at least i know your mind is open to possibilities. though, if you were feeling sad in your heart at the thought of not having an exact replica of the movie scarves, i would want to know. there should not be sadness in your heart.
