on-line apartment searching is addictive. denver seems to have a great many available apartments. i reeeeeaaaallly hope we land us a nice one. and, you know, one that's reasonable of price. we'll have three days there to look. eek.

this is what i have done to prepare for our trip so far: made hotel reservations, printed out and bound a AAA trip tik thingy with maps and directions, made a packing list of everything i want to bring, borrowed suitcases from my parents, and investigated the CU housing office and decided it probably won't be helpful. rach bought the plane tickets for the return trip; registered, insured and is now having fixed and inspected her new car; arranged for us to stay with her friend one night on the way; contacted the people we know in denver; got us a cooler for the car; and made her own packing list.

still to do: call our other friends in the area, call various apartment renters, get all our apt info on the laptop we're taking with us, get some decent food for the car trip so we will not be sad starving vegans, make sure the kitties will have all their needs met while we're gone, pack, and pay the bills that will be due while we're gone.

i don't think i've ever been so prepared for a trip. or even so aware of what needs doing. this is all thanks to J, the add coach lady. i ♥ her.

i am also plenty aware of my recital and all that needs doing for that. we went to the church where this sunday's recital is on wednesday and omg, it is HUGE. and very live, acoustically speaking. it will sound nice, i think, but we're not used to it and it was a bit disconcerting. we have to work with the space - more detached singing, not pushing too hard, slower tempos. hm.

and. last night was my last choir rehearsal at the church. ever. eep. sunday will be my last service. we had a little party after the rehearsal. they are so cute. they had a vegan cake this time. :) they had balloons that said, 'we love phineas.' they gave me the chalice pendant and... actually, i kind of like it. what they did, i think and rach thinks, is look at the pendant i wear all the time (blue chalcedony) and fine the chalice pendant that was nearest in size and shape. so. yeah, i like it. i don't know about the whole religious-symbol-wearing thing. but it's pretty.

they also gave me $75 and a sweet reading about music, framed with a little picture of the church. i gave them all cds of choral music - much of which they've sung with me. and then they got all decked out in bandanas and cowboy hats and sang a choral arrangement of happy trails that they had rehearsed a few nights ago. which i think is just about the cutest thing ever.

i didn't cry. came close a few times. man. this goodbye thing... man.

Omg, I should know this! Ummmm, okay, four corners first: Utah, Arizona, New Mexico. Wyoming, Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska. And maybe the Texas pandhandle? That is one surrounded state!

EEEEE! But you're coming West! And then it's only three fourteen-hour days of driving to get to me! (well, it may be less. the last time I came back from CO, my father-in-law was driving and he rarely exceeded 50 mph. *snore*)
