martha continues to haunt me today. i have been somewhat productive work-wise. but only somewhat. i thought i would take a cup of tea and my book out on the porch and sit and read and be calmed. but it's fucking NOISY in my backyard, yo. i live close to two schools and it was apparently recess time. and dogs barked constantly. police sirens. birds! thousands of chirping birds. airplanes. and a helicopter that seemed to be circling my neighborhood repeatedly. remind me to read inside next time.

apropros of nothing, bartok wrote beautiful music for women's and children's chorus. i particularly love 'don't leave me.' it's relatively simple and i just might have to teach it to my choir tonight. i will stick the lyrics (in english as i have no access to the hungarian) at the bottom of the cut below.
