blah! so many open windows, so many un-responded-to comments. work, it stinketh.
and today, well, it might be better. i've get to get my ass to the north shore for lunch with my mom and grandfather at his new place of residence. and then the usual church stuff. it's going to be one loopy choir tonight after last night's game. thank goodness there is no need for a game tonight. and i'm thinking about coming directly home tonight after rehearsal, if i'm not too tired. it would be nice to be here all of friday.
work yesterday sucked more in some ways and less in others. it was more grunt work than ever, mostly packing and unpacking boxes and counting and organizing things. basically, it was like moving. for a solid eight hours. but the good part was standing among the cubicles of several cute gay men who laughed and made fun of each other whenever one of them said 'unit' or 'package' to a customer over the phone. scents of the day: 'splash of rain' and 'cucumber & cantaloupe' (which made me sneeze).
also, the reason they like me so much, it seems, is that i'm ultra efficient. i don't know whom i'm compared to, but they continually express amazement at the speed with which i perform their crappy tasks. i dunno, man.
i was almost too wiped out for tai chi, but of course i went anyway. the big 'secret' is really not so exciting. just that the whole thing can be done symmetrically in the other direction. well... duh. still, it was hard to do. and now only one more class of this series and 12 form is my bitch!
and... lost. which i thought was the least exciting episode thus far. too many annoying, contrived moments. but i was excited for the sun/jin back story. i thought that was good, twisty and surprising in places. the watch thing, though? contrived. the separation of the two camps? contrived. dude, why not be one camp with a rotating outpost who keep the fire going? how could they not even have brought up that possibility? jack and kate getting naked? contrived. jack/kate in general? omg, it seemed organic before this episode. wtf? eh. i mean, i still enjoyed it, but definitely, imo, the weakest episode yet. actually, considering the fade from jack's face to kate's, this goes without saying. whichever episode contained that would automatically become the weakest.
and then, of course, the game. it was so... easy. this has been said. but that final out - tossing the ball to first and that's it! they won! it didn't seem possible. but yay. relief and amazement. and pride. yay boston. i still think the sox need teammate-groping lessons from the yankees, who are remarkably good at grabbing each other's asses and such. work on that for next year, boys.
what else? i have no real comment on the
anniesj thing. she's said herself she understands why they investigated and they were good about it. i'm just disappointed that someone reported her. i mean, i saw the post. there's no way it was an actual threat. which, in my mind, makes the reporting an act of malice. which is a bunch of shit. and why people are continuing to flame and get their panties in a twist about this is beyond me. she is being amazingly level-headed about it all. i wish more people would take their cues from her. learn the lessons and move on.
