so, i explained the car situation to mechanic guy (it started fine this afternoon, now that it is dry and sunny) and he opened the hood and started the car. then he spritzed part of the engine with water and the car shut off.

i now have new spark plugs, a new distributor rotor and cap, a new battery and a functioning automobile.

and an appointment for the 90,000 mile maintenance next week.
