listy list. and then just pick something on it and do that. usually the thing that's easiest and requires the least complicated thought so as not to get immersed in a quagmire of the first thing I try to do.

or I constantly refresh lj for an hour and read bad fic, but that's the less helpful - if more often employed - method. *g*
