well. hm. the woman who interviewed me (the hell boss mentioned by M [M=guy who had job before]) was like the evil!minister but on crack.* i know much more about her now than she knows about me. seriously, her life's story. which, really, was irrelevant to the interview. i also know she's very defensive about her position there as she felt the need to repeatedly mention that she could be doing other, wonderful artistic things. but for her love of the students etc.
i just don't know how it went. she barely asked me one question. but she talked on endlessly about the place and herself. i figure it's one of three things:
1. they've already chosen someone else and this was just about covering their bases,
2. they've already decided they want me based on my resume and this was just about making sure i can dress myself and am not a psycho,
or 3. she's just so full of herself that she thinks that was a good interview.
and the things is, i am good at dealing with psycho bosses and bad working environments. i complain a lot but i manage. i want this job because it would put me on the path toward doing the kind of work i want to be doing. and i could make a good year for myself with this and church and working toward a recital with anney and giving lessons. yeah. i would barely have to do any crap work. that would be really great.
so, we'll see. i just have no idea what happens now or how that went. this whole thing is weird.
*those who have been reading this journal less than a year and a half will be unfamiliar with the evil!minister but just take my word for it, she was evil. working for her sucked, all she cared about was herself and her image.
i'm tired. i'd rather not go to the farm today, much as i love it. i haven't unpacked yet and the house smells like cat. and i have a thousand e-mails i am looking forward to answering. but yeah, a nap would be rad. ::wilts::
oh, i looked really good at the interview! yes. i was a study in brown. i've got the brown hair, brown eyes thing going, of course. and then i wore these pants:

and i've taken all of those thing off now and i'm sitting in my undies but

Date: 2004-08-31 02:18 pm (UTC)also, if i had a time machine, i could take you away from your relatives for a little while and take you to get the best chai in town and support local businesses because i live in austin. so, there's that. also, fyi, it's taken me like 5 minutes to type this because i keep stopping and staring at the pretty pretty colors. stopping now.

Date: 2004-09-01 06:31 am (UTC)and hey, you're in austin. cool. we weren't actually visiting family - it was a little more fun than that. a friend who recently had a baby and named us unofficial godparents. and yeah, downtown austin looked great from the inside of the air-conditioned car. but i won't complain, because the baby is the cutest thing ever and mostly i just stared at her and played with her and made up songs for her. good times.
and hey, new friend. yay!
