::fights it... fights it desperately... is loosing... ergh..:: well, i'm back.

ok, now i can just sit back and giggle some more at my own new default icon. geek. love.

i will have fic for you soon too! i was so excited to have finished writing a fic. i danced around the study and pointed happily at my computer and then sent it off to the betas. and then... they sent it back and now i have a whole lot more work to do. damn. but! it will be fun. and i wrote something! yay!

i'm not really ready to do a full assessment of the away-from-lj experience. i will say that in most ways, it just sucked. but it did teach me some things about how i use my time and how i procrastinate. there will be more pondering of these topics.

so, i made a little list of things to mention about the days that passed. here, to start with, are a few things about last thursday and friday:

on thursday, i finally said yes to going out dancing with jenny after work (her work, that is, which means she picked me up at 11:15). and omg, it was so very much fun. i made jenny promise to post about it and indeed she did, and it is here and here. you really want to click on those. i mean, really. that's where you find the dicing gay cowboys. and you know that's why you clicked on this cut in the first place. um, yeah. good times.

and so of course, the next day at work i was hungover and exhausted. but the best part of work that day was that boss!guy interviewed people for my job. yay! one woman who came in was everyone's favorite. E interviewed her and said that, hands down, she was the best candidate. junior said that even when just talking to her on the phone she was his favorite. but boss guy hedged. later, i found out from E that he was hedging because he thought she was a lesbian. she mentioned something about having a 'partner.' he asked E whether that would make her uncomfortable. to her credit, E was infuriated. we spent a good part of the day talking about what an unbelievable asshole boss!guy is.

that night, even after a nap, i could only muster the energy to sit on the couch and watch a movie. and so we did. starsky and hutch - which i hadn't seen yet. omg, love them. there has got to be some ben/owen out there, right? right? where?

and now, let me say... OMG I MISSED YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :::::::clings::::::: i am virtually smothering you all with hugs and kisses and all sorts of verging-on-inappropriate touching. i have so. much. love. for you. so much.

and there are too many of you lovelies out there for me to go catch up with everyone. so if you are inclined to drop me a comment and let me know what exciting (or not) thing happened to you this week, do so! also, fic recs or links to posts with fic recs would be so appreciated. i am in withdrawal. there's drooling and twitching. yeah, it's ugly.

oh, thank you! i wasn't feeling pink anymore. and all summer i've been obsessed with this color combination. completely obsessed. so it makes my heart happy to have it in my lj.

eee! ::dances around and claps:: there is much beta work to be done. you and jenny both sent them back by friday night and i read them quickly before going to bed and was overwhelmed. in a good way. but i have a lot of thinking to do. i think i'll try to do it at work to fill those long, exruciatingly dull hours.

dude. that made for a most confusing morning. because i've been using my phone as a backup alarm (yes, i definitely need more than one) and that morning, something else woke me up and i looked over and my phone was blinking at me. and in my 4 am confusion, i thought that was my alarm. so i picked up the phone but what it was actually trying to tell me was that my message inbox was overfull. and so, not realizing it was 4 am and thinking it was somehow urgent, i set about deleting old messaged. and then realized as i woke up more, what was going on. and put the phone down and went back to sleep. when the alarm actually went off 2 hours later, i had the texts from you. and still, at 6 am, they were a little confusing.

but still appreciated. even in the utter darkness of the subject matter. ::shivers::

i don't think it's too dark for you. the darkness is very ... harry, like, maybe if i still had it uploaded i would use my evil!harry icon that you made for me, the one with him in his slytherin scarf. the darkness is key to the story, and jintian really just ran with a version of how things could be for harry post-OotP. i think you'll like it, although i certainly have been wrong before. maybe i'll just selfishly say i want to be able to talk with you about it, so you should read because of that. :) plus i still think you'll like it.
