phineasjoneson the way home from church was thinking about... (any gueses?... that's right, you got it)... sex. boysex, to be more specific. i was thinking, i need to see the movie priest again. love that movie. i think it has some issues in the area of characterization and plot development but... it's still good. and it was the first m/m sex scene i watched that did anything for me. a revelation, really. also, it is not a jesus movie but it comes close...
i love nothing more than a good jesus movie. ok, not really true since the advent of slash in my life, but there is still an element of truth. but it occurs to me i haven't seen all that many...
last temptation of christ - i hate it, i hate the book, i hate it even though it has sexy!ugly!willem dafoe in it, but i've seen it several time anyway as it features (you guessed it) jesus.
jesus of montreal - the best jesus movie of all time. one of my fave flicks ever. brilliant.
jesus christ superstar - love it. the only andrew lloyd weber i can tolerate anymore.
life of brian - ok, yeah, i know, not really a jesus movie. but... kinda. i like to throw it in there anyway. there are lots of jesus-y jokes anyway.
what else? what other jesus movies are there?

Not large with the subtlety, I'll grant you (but then neither is JCS--it's hard to be subtle when your topic is Jesus Christ, I think), but the music is wonderful, and the show is so goofy and lighthearted until bam! all of a sudden there are tears streaming down your cheeks. Damn. I love that show. The movie is very hippie-ish and silly, but it still just makes me sob and sob.
(Also making mental note to see Priest when I get the chance--I remember wanting to see it when it came out, but never got around to it.)
