(though this message is long and rambly, you should look at the end at least, for there is text slash there)

dudes. i received no fewer than 21 responses to the neville TextSlash challenge. i love you soooooooooooooo much! and there was even an entry from someone not on my flist... though she had to leave it in comments bc i'm a ninny and had my texting option flocked. no more. anyone can text me now.

i'll post them tomorrow, i think, because there was yet another apostrophe mixup and i'm hoping to get that cleared away beforehand. but, may i just say, they are fantastic. you all kept me so entertained today... i'm practically tearing up just thinking about it. many of you also made me look like i'm completely insane as i struggled very, very hard not to laugh too loudly at my centrally located desk.

omg! office gossip! so there's santa, you know, and he works closely with his partner C. i like C, she's friendly but not overly so. a fit and attractive lady in a rather suburban way. and... she and santa are doing the thing! (!!!) E told me this today and i thought she was just yanking my chain but she assured me it's true and it's been happening for years - started when santa was married, which he no longer is. omg! what does this woman see in this bossy, disgruntled, harley-riding santa-man??? have i mentioned the disgusting hacking noises he makes while sitting in his office? what is she doing?

also, i no longer like boss!guy. because - to sum it up briefly - he is stupid about veganism, he almost made fun of a deaf man, he gave me personal projects to work on and he won't let me listen to music in the office. buttwipe.

and now, today's non-challenge text slash... oh, crap, wait. i forgot only part of [livejournal.com profile] starbuckle's came through. jennykins, did you save it? can you resend? see, when y'all send the messages, your lj addresses are part of the message, making it over the character limit. my service automatically splits it into two messages. so most of the messages you send come in two pieces. and i seem to be missing jenny's second piece. which is unusual. don't know what happened there. but! there's this from [livejournal.com profile] camillafarfalla who knows exactly how to tug on my heartstrings:

The arduous trip over the sea left Sam's memory the moment he stepped of the ship. Master Frodo was waiting for him on the shore, smiling.

♥!

what i sent:

8. hermione made a vague flailing motion with her hands, which ron — miraculously — correctly interpreted to mean "please snog harry," so he did.

i miss you.

I was just randomly on the cummings challenge community and found the pictures (http://www.livejournal.com/users/cummings_chal/3237.html?mode=reply) of the books you made, and oh my goodness, how did you make that last one? I've been making books lately, and I love that style but am afraid to try it without directions because I'd likely as not mess it up. Is it very difficult?

ooh! you've been making books? that's exciting.

i got the technique from my book-making book (cover to cover). it's called chain stitch. it takes doing a few times to get the hang it but then it's not so hard. it would take a little explaining, though. or i could send you a copy of the instructions if you like.

it's one of my favorite bindings because it's exposed - which i think looks cool - and the book can lie completely flat, unlike with many stab bindings.

Instructions would be marvelous & I'd be happy to do something in return for you.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of the exposed bindings, and the whole laying flat thing. It helps that I'm generally enamored of journals of all kinds.

omg such scandals with C and Santa!! M at work (oh, researcher!M) recently told me a similar scandal from my work - two of them are apparently sleeping together, but NO ONE knows! scandal scandal!

Maybe I'll start texting from an unlogged-in window, so it doesn't split my message. Or from my phone, I suppose - that'd give me more characters! But wouldn't be as free. And wouldn't look like I'm working at the computer when I'm doing it. *g*

How random was the Frodo and Sam? I was thinking Sirius and Remus, and then it just morphed. whee! am so glad you liked it!

no! don't text from an unlogged in window bc then i won't know it's you. i don't mind the split messages. your phone would be ok, but less convenient for you.

the frodo and sam was totally random. and i loved it.
