ok. i'm kinda sorta caught up on my flist. as much as i'm going to be anyway. i got so annoyed with lj's on-and-off-ness that i just took yesterday (and thursday night) off. so. but yeah, now lj is back and so am i.

i had a lovely time yesterday with starbuckle. we went to the bookmill and then drove to vermont. just so she can now say that she's been there. and then later she and holdenrevisted came over and we watched us some firefly. ::happy sigh::

mmm_cake and i might head back to the bookmill today... now that we know they have wifi, what would keep us away?

thursday, i ran into willysunny and her wee one at a coffee shop. so cute! omg. and ethan's quite the sweetie too. (omg, i'm so witty!) how great is it to live in a town where you can randomly bump into slashy fun friends wherever you go? very fun.

hm. after a day and a half of not being on lj, i feel out of the fandom loop and don't really have anything fun and fannish to say. alas. i still love you all though. yep.

Here's something fannish you can do! Rec me Firefly fic! I'm one disc in to watching it for the first time and I am so in love I can't see straight. And you're the only person I've seen on my friends list talking about fic, so I'm coming to you. :)

Also, I keep forgetting to tell you that I love the background image on your journal. A lot.

sadly, i've found very little ff fic that really does it for me. here (http://firefly.populli.org/)'s an archive that i trolled and trolled and found very little to write home about, but it dad satisfy the desperate urge in the moment. also, my pairing of choice is simon/jayne and i think that's a large part of my problem. much as i love it, it would never really work, i know. and so it's hard to write good fic about.

firefly100 has too few members but they include drabble queens jacito and dorrie6 so it's worth looking at. hope that it picks up one of these days. not that i've done anything to help with that. :)

tetchy (http://debchan.com/misc/tetchy.html) is the one simon/jayne that really works and is well written. highly recommended.

oooooooh, thank you! that will at least be someplace to start. I don't really have a preferred pairing, yet - and I think, like my other experience with ME shows, I won't end up with any sort of OTP, I'll read anything - so that lets me be a little more open with fic. Yay!

And I am so in thrall over this show. I want to watch the whole thing before I talk about it and I think then I will gush all over my journal for weeks. So watch that space. :)
