oooook then. i have more or less caught up on my weekend flistiness. 12 windows open to go back to.
this was a lovely weekend. the weather was so intensely perfect i was afraid i was going to have to recant about my dislike of summer... and then i remembered it's still technically spring so i'm ok.
yesterday, rach and i went to a service at the noho UU church. it was ok, but just ok. my problem with church-going is that i'm forever searching for a church experience as fulfilling as the one i had when i was miserable, living at my parents house and tried out the UU church in the neighboring town. which just happened to have the most brilliant minister ever - a fact i've since learned is widely acknowledged in the UU world. her sermons were brilliant and moved me to tears just about every week. the readings and poems she chose were always gorgeous and thought-provoking. yeah, it was intensely satisfying. and i've never found another minister who does that. definitely not this one. he was ok but there was a general hippie-dippy feeling to the service and that's not my cuppa. maybe i'll check out amherst next week.
starbuckle and i went for a walk and talked fandom til there was not much fandom left to talk. it was good times. also, we saw a bear(!!!). we were just a-walking along a local bike path and this biker had stopped ahead of us and was peering into the woods (not thick woods, here, it's a residential area) and said he had seen a bear. jenny and i were, like, and you're sticking around why, exactly? and then we saw it too, marveled for a second and went on our way rather quickly.
and then, last night, rach and i made pizza on the grill! i was a bit skeptical at first, but no longer! omg, the yumminess! and then we made s'mores with our new (omgthey'reperfectandamazing!!!) vegan marshmallows. more with the yum.
and today it's not as sunny and perfect as it has been. and the next two days are supposed to be disgustingly hot. but i'm so grateful for the lovely weekend, i will try not to bitch and moan all the livelong day as is my wont in extreme heat.
and i have crap to do but whenever i get to post next, i will have some recs. ::smoochies::
