i was all a-grumpy about having to get up and dismantle our old futon and such but now it's gone and hallelujah! we have a front room again. and it's only 10:20. heh. only.

i feel strange and a bit discombobulated... perhaps liberal amounts of coffee will right this.

i hope to get a lot done today... and that's always a dangerous way to start a day.

[livejournal.com profile] camillafarfalla and i went and saw troy. second time for her, sort of second time for me. i saw it while in VA but got a call while in the theater inviting me to dinner and so i left about 15 minutes before the end. so... the first time, i really liked it. i was rather moved by achilles, while bored by the battle scenes. this time though... um. what was i thinking? thing is, i'm still attached to the whole achilles part...if they made a 30 minute movie out of just the achilles scenes, i'd probably like it. but the rest was such frickin drivel! oy.

and see, i think brad pitt is a very good actor. i've liked him for a long time, but not in a 'fan' way so much as a... well, a person who thinks he's a good actor way. and i still think so. i think he did quite a good job with the material he was given in this movie. same for eric bana. i wish i could say the same for dear orlando. he certainly does a good job of looking pretty. and the scenes where he gets to show emotions besides 'besotted' or 'vomitously sincere' were better than most. i hope he gets to play a role with oh, i don't know, interesting lines soon. i feel like i have no sense of him as an actor. a good sense of his well-oiled torso, but not his acting, no.

bean was good though. yay bean!

I hear what you're saying about Orlando. I would love to see him do something other than earnest/sincere. He does it well, but flex those acting wings young Bloom!

yeah. exactly. i believe in my heart that he is a good actor but i don't have a lot of, you know, good acting to back that up. :)
