i can't get dressed today. it's pleasantly cool but nastily humid. so, when i'm not moving around, i need warm clothes and when i am moving around i need cool clothes. layers are the answer, clearly, but i'm having trouble coming up with the right ones.

ohboyohboy! it's dvd day!!! rotk, buffy 6 and northern exposure. could this be more exciting?

also, there is much beta-ing to be done. awaiting me in my inbox and word are trinity/neo, trinity/persephone, hermione/ginny and remus(/sirius). ::dance of beta joy::

and my lady comes home tonight. yay! and camillafarfalla will be here. and i'll see starbuckle, after what seems like 5 years.

this is almost too much excitement for one day. and i haven't even had my coffee yet.

i'm waiting for amazon. which could make for major disappointment but i'm trying not to think about that. they were all gifts for my birthday so i can't complain about method of delivery.

i think i did find some once when i went a-searching for it. but... i feel like it's one of those shows where the fic has a hard time holding up to the show. and like the good pairings are the canon ones... so what would i go looking for? though... i certainly wouldn't mind some good ed/anyone fic.

hey--it's cool and humid here too! that's just because it isn't 10 am yet. soon it will be 98 or so.

but dvds! yay! i'm excited too. even about buffy. which i'm not really a FAN of, per se. but. i will see them in august, i guess. and i am excited.

Yay for DVD day! I ordered buffy s-6, rotk, and the PoA soundtrack through amazon with the free shipping option, and though my expected ship date isn't until the 30th, they usually send things early. Usually. Although I did consider changing my order this morning to just ship it as fast as possible.

turns out i'm waiting too. i was trying to ignore the fact that my order was coming from amazon (all birthday presents) and hoping it would miraculously show up at my door. but jenny bought rotk and if buffy doesn't show up by today, i'm going to buy it and then return the amazon copy to the store. :)

and the s/r mix! harriharriharri. your brilliance astonishes me. i looked at the list and thought, hm... sarah mc always gets me but these others don't look too heart-breaking.

um.

i never thought 'stardust' could be a song that destroys me. it's all about context. and nina simone singing 'black is the color of my true love's hair'? in fact, the whole veil section - those last three songs... it's just a huge sob-fest.

'my beloved monster' i had never heard but omg! it's so perfect! many of these songs are new to me or made new by the context. and have inspired me to think of many songs i would add to your categories. maybe we should conspire to make a mega s/r mix. or maybe that would lead to much pain and moping. :)

oh, i'm so so so glad you liked it! i wasn't sure how much of it would only make sense in my lil' brain, which is why i put the sections, because that's how i thought of them all fitting together. and i'm so glad some of these were new to you, and, er, not too cheesy.. it ended up being a little indigo girls-heavy, which i totally didn't think would happen, but i was listening to swamp ophelia and just weeping with the s/rness of it all...

oh, i know, i know! i was thinking, "hm, nina simone should have something good for s/r..." hunted around, and just died when i found that song. nina simone kiiiiills me dead. it just feels like, you know, the song starts at the moment sirius falls, and it's like, the only thing remus can hear as everything else is happening, it's the only thing he can think, is just, "black is the color..." and it just... ::weeps::

heh. well, it's definitely driving me to distraction lately, with the badness! argh! must. edit.

ahahahh! that's the best. no, it was silly i didn't spell it out, but phin's post of dvd excitement sent me running off to listen to my OMWF soundtrack, and then it was all over for me. waterworks, snorting at teh funny... i love season 6! and i've been drafting in my head a best o' buffy post since i read yours the other day, because oh, the goodness!
