it would just figure that i actually feel like writing some slash ::checks watch:: 12 minutes before i have to be at the theater for the dress rehearsal. if i had time i would write two scenes. the first would be the opening. snape in class, about to answer a question and lily pulls a hermione and answers it first and better than he would have anyway. snape thinks grumpy thoughts, especially about the way she pushes her hair over her shoulder, and then looks to the side and accidentally catches remus' eye. remus gives him a little sympathetic smile and snape looks away quickly, pretending not to be all butterflies over it.

later scene: snape encounters a boggart. he doesn't know that, of course. he just thinks it's james potter, maliciously chastising him for the way he looks at lily and remus, threatening to tell them and everyone what snape really thinks about them, what he really wants from them. then, when snape is quivering and terrified and about to cry, the james shimmers, melts and suddenly morphs into a glowing ball. snape whirls around when he hears 'riddikulus' (or however you spell that) and finds lupin has come up behind him.

also, i wonder about snape's feelings about frank and alice longbottom. i always assumed he was horrid to neville because he's such an easy target... but maybe not. maybe there's more to it. i wonder. and somehow it never occurred to me before this.

oh, such intriguing scenes! I can picture that moment when Snape turns and sees Remus.

And I've also never thought about Snape's behavior to Neville being based on feelings toward his parents, though it makes sense since that is apparently the root of Snape's animosity for Harry. I always assumed Snape picked on Neville because Neville seemed weak. Perhaps reminded him of himself at that age.

aaaaah! so perfect. oh, the poor wee snape. i feel like, especially after ootp, he's becoming such a good, complex and potentially sympathetic character, with so much room for (and need for) these scenes... about who he is, and how he got there. it's up to you, phin! go, phin, go!

gives him a little sympathetic smile and snape looks away quickly, pretending not to be all butterflies over it.

exactly.

Oh, phin, you're giving me chills. This is so how it could happen.

And James-Boggart? Oh, oh! Telling everyone Snape's secrets? Eee!

And I want to know more about your thoughts on the Longbottoms? Do you think Snape was jealous? Or did he dislike them for some incident? Or were they just too happy - too perfect - like James and Lily?

I so want you to write this story!

me with the untimely comment-responses.

are you reading [livejournal.com profile] jacito and [livejournal.com profile] dorrie6's count down to PoA drabbles? jaci's this morning was _so_ perfect. you must read it. it had given me still more to think about in the snape realm.

as has re-reading PoA. i'm almost done (but have been interrupted by social activity lately, what's up with that?) and there are sooo many things i need to discuss with people. you, mostly. :)
