oh, so very glad to have watched angel tonight. so many shout outs and snark, snark, snark and so funny. there was only one boat i really thought they missed. when andrew answered the door in his tux... it should have been his boyfriend. i mean, apart from my love of the gay, it just would have been right for his character. it would have been more meaningful too, than the overdone fantasy of the two gorgeous italian women.

i was impressed by the illyria-fred thing. just the acting of it - watching he switch back and forth. rather impressive. and kind of disturbing-like.

and if they had to have buffy-closure without having her on the show, i'd say they did a pretty good job.

man, am i tired of turn of the screw. well... not really of the music but of the constant listening to and studying of it. but it ain't over yet. far from it. oy.

i am, however, a little smitten with ian bostridge, who plays quint the freaky ghost of a child molester on the recording i have. he does an excellent job of being creepy.

now, some pre-bed yoga.

wheee for being smitten! I have decided I should just embrace mine in order to make it fun and silly so it will go away faster. Yours is probably better to begin with though - if a little more creepy, thanks. *g*

I was so psyched that they were gonna make Andrew canonically gay, but i should have known that when it's that obvious they're gonna yank it away. I maintain he's still so gay and the writers know it and are just being evil and playing with us. You know Joss loves him some ambiguity. And they so clearly weren't his girlfriends. I mean, they don't *have* to be faghags, but it would just be like Xander going out to the Bronze with Willow and Buffy. I tend to forget about the whole threesome fantasy thing, though. I totally didn't even think of it until you mentioned it; i was like "Well clearly they aren't dating him 'cause clearly mainstream TV doesn't recognize poly relationships so no girl is gonna share her guy nevermind go on a date with him and the other girl."

it should have been his boyfriend.

I was fully expecting that. The Andrew gay is canon. It's really late to take two big, busty Italian steps backwards there. He is not Jonathan. Not interchangable. Grr.

ohgodohgodohgod. IAN! he's my favoritest-est-est tenor ever. the one the brits complain is too wimpy. ::melts:: i saw him in london- singing britten songs, actually. i went by myself and brought binoculars :)

he made a video of a semi-staged version of the entire Winterreise cycle... lots of dark, empty rooms and angsty leaning on walls and looking tortured. and beautiful schubert. we must find it someday!

eep! ian! i'm so glad you love him!

Omigoodness I lovedlovedlovedloved Wesley and Illyria's storyline last night! other than that though, I really didn't like the episode. I was more annoyed than anything. I guess it was my desire for something More. Come one people! You only had three episodes to go and you made one of them about this?!

i'm glad i got to talk to the two of you beforehand, because i was expecting it to be pretty bad, and was therefore pleasantly surprised. i mean, i felt like the angel/spike/buffy stuff needed to be resolved.. but i probably wouldn't have thought there was anything to resolve if this ep hadn't happened. so i was fine with it. and the funny, i liked. the fred/wesley/ilyria was beautiful and necessary, but yeah, still don't feel ilyria was a necessary plot devolopment, except to show how great an actor she is. sigh.

wait, what was my point? right! ANDREW! all the body language he used during the episode towards spike had been all squeeful, and i was so disappointed in the writers that they had the women at the door. was dumb. for a moment i was hoping maybe it would be dawn (because i'm such a andrew/dawn friendshipper), but bah. oh well. stupid tv. still love andrew though. love!! omg. where's my andrew icon? crap!

Yeah, the whole women thing was just weird. He wasn't subtexty, Andrew is Out! Why would they give him women?!
