appear and inpsire
Aug. 30th, 2002 10:04 amit's not actually raining anymore but it's still grey and wet and chilly. does a girl good. really, i'm loving it. i'm wearing a sweater! i love sweaters. warm clothes in general. ::contented sigh::
but! i cannot allow the beautifully calm weather to lure me into a state of complete laxitude like it did yesterday. i had a lovely time chatting with
starbuckle and
scottxwl (at some length) yesterday. don't regret that. just regret that i still haven't sent out a letter to the church choir. this has to be done today. and no later.
i have to make myself understand that i'm not unemployed anymore. i have two part time jobs starting this month. lots o'work to be done. yup.
and today i'm supposed to see rachel and allan. i miss allan terribly and i'm a little worried about him... i've only seen him twice this summer but both times he's been kind of quiet and down. and he's usually about the most up person i know... hmmm. worried. wonderful people like him shouldn't be sad.
and, for your poetry spam of the day, because it also fits the mood of today's weather... some w.h. auden from hymn to st. cecilia (set to music by benjamin britten):
I cannot grow;
I have no shadow
To run away from,
I only play.
I cannot err;
There is no creature
Whom I belong to,
Whom I could wrong.
I am defeat
When it knows it
Can now do nothing
By suffering.
All you lived through,
Dancing because you
No longer need it
For any deed,
I shall never be
Different. Love me.
