phineasjonesi think whatever i had to say about angel has pretty much been said. it is a serious problem that they've killed off the women. harmony, as angel's secretary no less, certainly does not count. nor does eve - an occasional and mostly evil presence who was gratuitously smacked around for our enjoyment last night. there are issues here. and it gets even better - not only does fred die, but they give us another female villain - hosted or brought forth by a female character. joss is too smart for this, what's going on here? that said, i enjoyed the episode much more than most recent episodes. it was more engaging, better written. old skool too, with one problem bringing in all the characters, those are always the eps i like best. and the angel-spike stuff was highly enjoyable.
gunn singing gilbert and sullivan was too good. (nice voice, too) but everything else with gunn has me totally freaked. what's going to happen to him? meeeeeep.
people who've known the show longer and more deeply than i see and inherent fucked up-ness in wes/fred. i don't. not inherent anyway. i see where some fucked up-ness came in at various points. but... i don't know. i believe wesley's feelings. fred's came a little out of the blue but it would have been interesting to see it play out. i have not seen most of season 4 - i don't know to what extent that affects my view. but anyway, poor wes. again.
erg. i have to finish packing up my stuff. i leave in 40 minutes - i'll go to the temp job and from there drive to church, meet with the minister, give two voice lessons, direct rehearsal, drive to my parents', sleep! (w00t), go to boston for more work, drive back here. a whirlwind two days. moreso than usual. and i'm already dead tired. meow.
i'm sure i should be reccing things or whatnot, but i'm so heavy with the lethargy right now, i think i'd better focus on the packing to make sure 40 minutes is enough time to get me out of here.
