am having an amazingly pleasant morning alone here in camillafarfalla's apartment. it's sunny and there are city noises drifting in through the windows. and her apartment is so cute and comfy and snug. i went out a bit ago to retrieve some coffee and a bagel. mmm, new york bagels. and then i trecked back up her five flights of stairs (seriously, i don't know why camilla bothers going to a gym). i'm contemplating a stroll down by the river but that would entail going up and down those stairs again and i'm not sure whether i'm up for it.

yesterday we went to see rotk. the theater was surprisingly full and we ended up having to sit in the third row. very different experience. i actually had to turn my head to see things happening on different parts of the screen. i wouldn't want to do that every time, but it was kind of fun. and then we went to dinner at zen palate. omg, yum. it was splurge-y for both of us but it was so nice. and tasty. and then back at her apartment, i introduced her to some angel. and hee! she was sucked in in a matter of minutes. i was just going to show her a bit of lindsey but we ended up watching a whole episode. yay.

i suppose i ought to shower. god. i feel pretty darn good right now.

You wanted to crawl into a hole to get away from everything, and now you find it's a cheery hobbit-hole instead of some nasty dank tunnel. eee!! I'm so pleased! I just wish I were there with you - but maybe the time alone in a different environment is just what you need. I'm so happy to provide that. ::hugs::

Walking by the water would be worth it (if windy) - the city shines in the sun from the Statue of Liberty to the Chrysler Building and is just beautiful. Hicks to Remsen will get you there.

i'm so glad you got to have a tasty trip to NYC! you are wise... visits with friends in hobbit holes and changes of scenery are good things.

it was lovely. and yes, hobbit holes are much better than pits of despair. sunnier anyway.
