Feb. 2nd, 2004 04:17 pminterviewed at temp agency. and now my soul feels dirty. i had such a good attitude going in... and it just deflated over the two hours i was there... the testing, the rewriting the resume into data enter-able boxes, the falsely cheery interview about how resourceful i am and how well organized (haha) etc etc. bleh. the one plus i guess is that around here, companies will tend to be smaller and friendlier and less with the huge corporations. yeah.
heh, though one job they're looking to fill right now is at a church. no more churches!!!!! thankyouverymuch.

Date: 2004-02-03 04:14 am (UTC)I went to a proofreading temp agency today and left in a foul, dirty mood. I thought then of your excitement that you had an appt at an agency, and was hoping that it had gone well for you and that maybe you would still be feeling cheery and optimistic when you left your meeting there. Thus, I am sad to read this. You're sure as hell not alone though. Sometimes I think of it like prostitution. Selling your random skill set for a few days at a time; doesn't matter who you are as long as you can do the work. I mean, I okay, that's capitalism, but at least real jobs tend to care about who you are as a person and whatnot. Blegh.
I mean, yay temping!! ::ironic smile::
Oh yah right...
