even draco in the movie has become ivy blossom's draco. or... at least, draco who will become her draco. i've got the movie playing on my computer... while i write on this one... aaww, would you look how vulnerable he is? heh.
got to watching movie after siena and i were talking about it over dinner - after scott and i talked about it on im earlier. siena really likes it, despite really agreeing with me about it's weaknesses. well... i mean, i really like it too. but i wish she would be as enthusiastic about lotr. she likes that too... but she read it when she was young and blah blah blah. yeah, whatever. doesn't matter. clearly the fotr film does a far better job of relating its story then the hp film does. go ahead, argue with me.
ok. no more wine for me. wow. i am one cheap date. it takes nothing to get me tipsy. wooo. heheh. wooo.

Re: LOTR
Date: 2002-08-09 09:06 am (UTC)yeah, well, i'm vaguely sympathetic to her... her mother read all the books aloud to her, she loved them... she's carried them around in her head for so long. and she did actually like the movie. but the things that don't match with her ideas of what things were like bug her enough that she complains about them. which i don't want to hear, thank you very much. esp since she hasn't read the books in so long that her criticisms tend to be pretty much baseless.
i think she just feels possessive of the stories, bc they were so important to her and now everyone is talking about them etc. but, whatever! get over it and admit the movie is amazing already!
draco

Date: 2002-08-09 10:30 am (UTC)maybe we should add harry potter to the movie list - just so you and i can discuss the slashiness. a warning though - i giggle madly whenever ron is on screen, just cuz that kid is so adorable.
and
Date: 2002-08-09 01:32 pm (UTC)yes. i know it's going to be a little disappointing - no matter what i tell myself to prepare for - when harry and draco don't hook up in future books. i feel like some big showdown will happen with them eventually though, and one could probably read plenty of slashy overtone into it when it does. i'm sure i will.
and then there's cho... darn cho.
