interview completed. ::huge sigh of relief:: it went well... i have no idea how much the guy liked me or whatever but he was really nice and the school seems like a good place and if they were to like me and offer me a job, i would very seriously consider it. but there would be at least one more interview before that anyway. i should know within a week whether i made the final cut. so, now, back to my geeky pursuits...

am feeling much righteous indignation on the behalf of [livejournal.com profile] zarah5. some fuck stole her beautiful story. read about it here.

i am having some major house guest issues right now. siena is not pulling her weight around here. and she just extended her stay here for several days without asking if it was ok. she assumes it is bc it always is, she's a friend and you help your friends. we help our friends. she knows this. but fer cryin out loud. common decency says that you ask first. and she's been here since sunday and has not washed a single dish. she just asked to borrow a bag as she went out. sure, i say, there are a bunch in that closet. she looks for a minute and then says, where's that trendy one you were using yesterday?. oh. so, she doesn't just want to borrow "a bag," she wants to borrow my good bag. gggrrr. ::phht::

i'm tired and cranky, clearly. and need myself a nap. and some more hobbits.

glad to hear that the interview went well. where is this school again? what sort of school is it? is plopy involved? just wondering (especially about plopy).

i'm feeling sort of silly. i just had a really good conversation with myself in my head. i had some real insights into emerson's claim that "a foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds." at first i wasn't sure how seriously to take myself, but slowly but surely i was swayed by my eloquence.

you are a big oddball. thank goodness, cuz we all need big oddballs in our lives.

the school is here (http://www.fayschool.org). searched for plopy on website... hmmm...

i was just scrambling some tofu for rach's dinner and i thought, wouldn't it be fun to cook a big brunch for the kids this weekend? (you used to be "the boys" in my head, but with the advent of sarah, you have become "the kids") what do you think? what do you, scott, sarah espcially like for brunch food?

brunch sounds awesome. i love all of the stuff that you usually do for brunch and i'm pretty sure that sarah does too. scott's not wild about tofu scramble, which i've never understood. you should probably ask him what he likes (for the most part he's a pancake man (that sounds much funnier than i thought it would)). me, i'm all for tofu scramble with potatos of some sort, perhaps some sort of sausage type thing, toast, tea, coffee, perhaps some fruit salad to start. i'd prefer not to do pancakes. of course, crepes would probably be a good compromise and would probably satisfy scott. (wow, crepes, exciting). let me know if there are things you need me to get from cornucopia

My Tofu Scramble Stance.

I have only had Julian's tofu scramble which, no offense to Julian, has always been too bland to be enjoyable to me. But if there are other things involved, like Hash Browns or other potatoey goodness, then I find that tofu scramble kinda acts like rice does for dinner dishes: it increases volume without decreasing taste. Just mix the potatoes with the scramble, add maple syrup, and you have a plate full of Yummy.

oooo. k. that is not my concept of scrambled tofu. mine involves as much flavor as i can scrounge up. can't imagine comparing it to rice... eating it with rice, sure.

how does this menu sound to folks? -

scrambled tofu
some kind of potato-y thing
coffee cake
fruit
snausages

(too much maybe?)

(Is there such a thing as too much of this kind of food?)

Sounds great!

(heehee! "snausages!")

i am feeling ecstatic joy having read the menu. (the raah was a raah of happiness, you see!) i am giddy in anticipation of this weekend, and inspired to go shopping for large amounts of liquor this evening, if any housemates would care to accompany me. btw, we'll also be having plum wine, which hopefully will be good, seeing as how i dragged it all the way from california! yumm!

i also have tequila - though scott just bought some... and i have cointreau (some margarita recipes call for it, i think) so i'll bring those along (we'll never drink them.) does anyone like gin? we have too much.

plum wine? sounds tasty.

i'll bring the food for sunday morning...

oh boy oh boy
