1. i have over 500 cds in my music collection.
false. i think i have somewhere from 350-400. "i" really meaning "we" - rach and i have combined our collections. my purchasing rate has really fallen off of late.
2. before becoming a vegetarian, i would occasionally eat raw ground beef.
true. ::shudders:: yeah. i always liked meat quite a bit. my reasons for being vegetarian and entirely ethical. so yeah, i would eat ground beef as my dad was preparing it for dinner. and i liked it. ::shakes head in wonder::
3. i have performed on the stage of boston's symphony hall.
true. several times now. in the choruses of mendelssohn's elijah with coro allegro/the handel and haydn society (several performances) and the verdi requiem with bu. both were absolutely amazing experiences.
4. i've smoked marijuana only once in my life thus far.
false. i 've never smoked it. back in high school when everyone else was trying it, i fretted over it for quite a while and then decided i thought it was 'bad.' i didn't drink then either, at all. i saw these as morally deficient activities. and really, i kept thinking like that most of the way through college. and now, when i don't have much of a problem with the marijuana concept, i care too much about singing and asthma and the state of my lungs to risk smoking anything.
5. when i was in africa, a monkey stole my bananas.
true. cheeky little monkey. i was in gambia with s and j. we traveling back to dakar from the casamance. we went to a nature reserve and were roaming the paths, catching sight here and there of a few exciting animals. we stopped to eat the snack we were carrying leaving a bag open with a bunch of bananas in it. when we weren't looking, a monkey approached along the path. we saw it just as it came up to the bag and snatched the bananas out of it. it went a few feet away and sat and ate the whole bunch. we were incredulous and a little afraid of the brazen thing. it then went up the nearest tree and watched us, clearly waiting for more snacks.
