grrr. ever since we left boston, there are TONS of ads for adminish jobs at berklee, NEC, boston conservatory. why now, fuckers? why not last year when i was there???

wah. NOTHING in higher ed. choral/voice/opera in MA. ::pouts::

only three things that are worth my noting...

-community chorus near boston. i might possibly have a small chance, not sure. BUT. ::cries:: far away. i was a shoe-in for a community chorus job near boston this summer and i didn't go for it because of the extra commuting. that was right, right? i couldn't add a 3rd weekly trip to boston. right? ::cries::

-assistant conductor of a community orchestra. except that too, is close to boston. south shore even - so nowhere near convenient.

- also, eastern mass, a chorus that almost sounded worth going for. women's, community, barbershop. barbershop? um. no.

i think, honestly, i am never going to find a job.

start your own group. maybe that's the ticket. i, too, am at a point where i just want to put my head between my knees as i just can't locate the "perfect" job for my heart and soul. so, now i am beginning to think that i'll just invent one. many ideas flood my brain, but i am beginning to piece together a concept. now, to just put the wheels in motion... hmmm... zzzzz...

it always come down to this - start your own group. it would seem like the best way to go. but i am _horrible_ with that kind of thing - the self-motivating aspect of things. bleh.

i'm glad to hear that you're having ideas though - what is your line of desired work?

oh. don't get me started. i could rant for hours. well, my true love is musical theatre (don't laugh... too hard). i have performed for many years and also stage managed and co-produced many a show. as well, i have helped found 2 companies. one out in these parts and one in colorado. so, now that i have officially settled my butt back out here in western mass, i am depressed by the lack of professional and repertory theatre in the area. so, my dream job would be to create and run a professional theatre. i would be the "big boss woman" and i'm actually trying to drag dorrie6 into the process. we shall see. lots of ideas. as a working mother, i am finding time to be my biggest challenge. but it'll happen. i hope.

you know, it's the same way with choruses out here too. it feels like the area should be crawling with them. boston is. there's so much culture how can there not be more choruses? or professional theater opportunities?
