ok, so. i managed to get up just before 7 today. improvement at least. my big plan was to walk around the cemetery until i found an entrance and then walk around in the cemetery. but, woe is me, the three entrances were chained shut. :( maybe someday i'll work on the fence climbing thing but it certainly wasn't going to happen while i was all early morning stiff and creaky.

one gravestone caught my eye as i walked the edge of the cemetery. the name was 'clapp' and there's a building at my alma mater named for a clapp. then i noticed it was oddly new and shiny considering all the dates on it were from the 17 and 1800s. then i noticed the first name - lucius clapp. dude, i didn't even realize lucius was an actual name. i though jkr just made it up to sound evil. no, it turns out northampton has had at least one lucius. huh.

i don't really think that's such a bad thing to do. what's bad is that they told you. i mean, really, would it be so hard to invent a great aunt and say you were named for her?

I went to high school with a Lucius. As if that's not enough, his middle name was Traylor. And his last name was German, starting with a Sch and continuing for about 16 more syllables.

AND he played the trumpet. Poor kid.
