so it would have been a good idea for me to check the street number of the house i was going to before leaving my house this afternoon. i was almost all the way there on the subway before i realized that i hadn't. oops. ok, i thought to myself, i will go to the street where the house is and look for our car and see which house seems to be having a party. this should work. it didn't. i wandered the street, up and down, found our car around the corner - wrong street, not helpful. so then i walked out to the main st. and found a pay phone and tried to call rach on the cell repeatedly but she wasn't answering. tried not to cry out of frustration over my unbelievable stupidity. i walked back to the car, sat in it and read for a while. then drove away, figuring i could go to a friends house nearby and wait for rach to call. fortunately, i tried calling her once more before doing this and she answered and i went to the house. what an annoying little experience.

and the party wasn't really all that anyway. i missed the movie, which didn't sound like much. celina's food was really good... but not quite impressive enough to warrant the stress it produced. except the ice cream. she made her own vegan coconut rum ice cream. yum! that was goodness in frozen form. we didn't stay long anyway. which was fine. i didn't really know anyone and i was hot and tired.
