hm. my weather pixie is a mac user. this is a bit disturbing. don't know why. the love of my life is also a mac user... but somehow the weather pixie seems traitorous.

church staff meeting this morning. woot? the good part is that we're coming into the home stretch, so to speak. 6 or so sundays left to plan in the church year. that's bad too, of course, since they don't pay me when i'm not working. sucks the way that works. do you suppose i could fool myself with a positive attitude? that i could say to myself, 'yay! it will be so good to see the minister! and to talk about the coming services - oooh, how exciting!!!' and that i would then enjoy the meeting? has anyone tried that? does it work?

so, slash has ruined me for reading other works of fiction that involve romance and sex. reading fingersmith is certainly less thrilling than it otherwise would have been. when maud and sue finally do the thing, i was thinking more about how it had taken them long enough than i was 'woohoo!!! victorian women getting it on!' bc of course they were going to get it on. right. also, the descriptions of the kiss, the references to the sex.. i don't know. it was fine but i was thinking how it wasn't even as good as some of the better slash. that sarah waters would benefit from reading some slash because it might push her farther. she's an amazing writer, she should be able to go even farther, do more amazing stuff. if she knew what there was out there to build on (and maybe she does, i don't know), maybe she could write really mind-blowing sex. that said, i remember thinking that tipping the velvet sex was pretty damn hot. i read that before reading any slash though, so i'm not sure how it compares.

i had vivid dreams last night. one started as a choir tour and ended as an explicit sex romp. i never have sex dreams, go me!

um, i do that sometimes. the pretending i want to be doing the thing i have to do anyway? but i also sometimes dress for the weather i wish it could be instead of the weather it is :-)

heehee. i went mac for a while - out of necessity. but i'm so much happier back on a pc. ahhhh. they just make so much more sense to me.
