wow. look at me go. i just sent e-mails to the two choral folks i know at mhc and the one i don't know at umass. very bold move for me, ladies and gents. it's all part of the 'prove the therapist has no idea what she's talking about' ploy.

also, i rescind all negative comments made about the orchestral conductor i just worked with. he's going to play violin on sunday - for free - and has been super active helping me find other players. and just volunteered some extra cash from the orchestra budget in case we should need more to pay the players. he may be clueless about working with a choir, but he's my new hero regardless.

and damn, i still haven't finished my program notes. bleh.

and really, could you guys just be a little nastier, please? i really love this icon and you're all so nice lately i never get to use it.

Nastier?

Well, this isn't nastier, but I did have a question for you. I was really surprised to find out that you shop at Old Navy, a Gap owned store. I was wondering if there was a reasoning behind this or if it fell into a "guilty pleasure" kind of thing.

oh, come on, that was close - you could have said it in a nastier fashion, though. this question definitely doesn't warrent the icon. ::sigh::

as for old navy... i guess you could call it a guilty pleasure. not really all that pleasurable though. or that guilty. i have no good excuse for myself. one reason i go there is that they have a really full range of sizes. girls of my size and shape can't find clothes just anywhere. and, again this is not an excuse, as i feel no need to make one, there aren't really a whole lot of better shopping options that are any where in the region of affordable. unless you know of some, i certainly would take suggestions.

Yeah, that makes sense. But I was SO hoping you were gonna tell me something amazing like "well, they are owned by the Gap, but everything they sell is actually made in the US!" Not because I don't want you to be shopping there, but I want me to be shopping there.

Nonono you do not protest too much in my opinion. I think you stated your position very clearly. And you have obviously thought about it. So you do what you have to. We all make our little compromises every day. As vegans and as socially conscious people Ithink we make fewer compromises than most people. I hope we do. And if YOU say that you more or less have no choice, then I accept that. I know you and respect you. I am certainly not judging you.

Which choral director at UMass? Abercrombie? I know of Abercrombie. *sage nod*

That icon rocks. I wish I could be nastier so I could see it more often.
