phineasjones::sneeze:: welcome, spring.
this picture makes me so ridiculously giggly and happy that i had to make it the background on my desktop. ::giggle:: they're like little, hobbitty-muppet people.
right, so it was all well and good that i designated yesterday a 'day off' and spent it accordingly - playing in the papasan with my girls and watching tv etc - but now i'm supposed to be getting back on track. what does the track look like? hmm.... well some important
- a little summin summin for someone's fast-approaching birthday
- find string players for the music service!!!! **high priority**
- start looking for work for the summer and the fall... for the fall in northampton... where i will be living
- harass the trumpet player about the easter service
- did i mention that job thing?
and so, yes. i realize i haven't made this pronouncement as such, and i should. rachael has chosen umass. officially. we will move to the valley sometime this summer. i'm not entirely sure what this will mean for my current or potential places of employment... but i have some time to figure that out.
how do i feel about this? well, i hate moving... the actual process of it just sucks. and i've done an awful lot of it since college (school to florence to noho to swampscott to jp to ny [for the summer] to cambridge to somerville). and i've grown accustomed to boston... leaving places is never easy. in theory, it will be harder to find a job out there... and if i commute to the church as i'm planning to do, there is a lot of driving in my future. my family is closer to here... but i'll be in the area so much for work, i know i'll see them. aside from all that, i'm thrilled. i love it there so much. i feel happier in my heart when i'm there. they really just have it all... all the academia and arts you could ask for, but only minutes from cornfields and woods and grass and trees. gay people everywhere! vegetarian food! fun cafes! small, independent businesses! cheaper cost of living! i want to be there.
