i keep forgetting to ask this.

we just signed up for netflix. very exciting. so, if you were us, what would you put in the queue? what should i see? i have been a little slack on seeing movies that aren't lotr in recent years, so go ahead and assume i've seen, like, nothing.

wuh?...

from the coolidge corner site:
Lord of the Rings screenings have been cancelled due to low attendance. Sorry for the inconvenience. Three pack coupons can be exchanged at the box office for a pair of movie passes that you can use for any future Coolidge program. And don't worry, we'll try it again some other time. Long live Middle Earth!

i must quote [livejournal.com profile] wildgreentide because yes:

I really think that LOTR is one of the most important stories I know. And I've read so many articles that talked about how it's all about good vs. evil, but I think that barely scratches the surface; it's about hope, despair, death, change, the passing of time, the impossible task, and the unbreakable bonds of love. Small wonder it's become almost like a religious text for some of us.
