so, at [livejournal.com profile] wildgreentide's birthday gathering, we played her 'shag, marry, dump' - the board game given to her by [livejournal.com profile] starbuckle. and when, by our special, just-for-us rules, i gave everyone harry, ron and hermione as options, i was the only one, the only one in a room of 6 who listed ron as shag. everyone else dumped him. dumped him!!! ?

and my shock and outrage at this prompted this text message from jenny:

"What do you mean they all voted to dump me? Ron hollered. Hermione hid a smile behind her hand. "That was after they shagged you, of course."

hee. poor ron. oh well, more for draco. or neville. or harry. etc.

ok, then. in our game of 'shag, marry, dump' we had two, player-made-up, fannish rounds (though one of the game's actual lists of three was david boreanaz, seth green, nicholas brendan. !!!). i asked about harry, ron and hermione and [livejournal.com profile] scottxwl asked about fred, tara and willow. which of these threes would you shag, marry, dump? (and i rather prefer that classification to 'fuck, marry, kill' which is just too hard when you have some love for all the choices.) play fair and choose one for each. ;)

phineasjones: (good day)
today beats every day last week put together. so far. ok, not really. bc i had fun friday night and saturday afternoon and sunday. but, except for those. yeah.

since i've already been pimping pumpkin recipes today, i thought i'd say a word about seeds. recently, after pureeing pumpkin for use in muffins etc, i was about to cook the seeds and i thought, hm, my pumpkin seeds never come out quite as well as i'd like. perhaps i'll see what didi emmons has to say about this. and i followed her advice and omg, yay! so much better. i'd been cooking them too hot too fast.

here's how she says to do it: put the seeds straight from the goop onto the pan - nothing added. bake at 325 for 20 minutes. then add olive oil and salt (or whatever spicy yumminess), mix around and bake for another 40 minutes at the same temperature. and they will be crispy and yummy and perfect!
