when i came back from taking rach to the bus stop, i noticed that there's a section of chain link fence across the street from our house... actually, directly across from the funeral home which is surrounded by huge trees whose leaves turned orange-yellow and are falling freely... um, whoa, i'm lost in my sentence. the point was that the falling leaves are getting caught in the chain link fence and it looks intentional, like someone decided to decorate the fence. it's very pretty and if i can get off my arse later, i'll go take a picture.

it's quite the rainy autumn we're having, isn't it? after a rainy summer, a very rainy spring and a snowy winter. huh.

bits of lotr excitement this morning. this is a spoiler-ful account of the extended ttt dvd. i haven't finished reading it yet but i've already had moments of squee, interspersed with one moment of 'oh no, please no.' but i won't go into that. edeainfj linked to these new rotk pics. meep. eowyn... yeah. that's all. just. eowyn.

i'm all about brown and green today. brown nails. green sweater and matching eye shadow (i know you're not supposed to do that but i like it, ok?). i'm not even going anywhere, i'm just enjoying myself.

ok, so this thing i'm working on? is a job application. i'm not going to talk about the job. because that would be scary. scary enough was the part i finally did today - request recommendations from two old profs. i haven't been very good about keeping in touch with either of them so i was a bit nervous about it all. but i finally wrote the damn requests. and one of them responded already. and i'm so glad i finally did this and here's ( her response. )
