ok, so this thing i'm working on? is a job application. i'm not going to talk about the job. because that would be scary. scary enough was the part i finally did today - request recommendations from two old profs. i haven't been very good about keeping in touch with either of them so i was a bit nervous about it all. but i finally wrote the damn requests. and one of them responded already. and i'm so glad i finally did this and here's her response:

Yes! Yes! Yes! I think the ____ job would be wonderful for you, and it's
about time they hired someone from the Yoke! [mount holyoke] What is the deadline for
that application? I can both write a strong recommendation and also give
[the program director] a call. We're on pretty good terms these days...

dude, i'm all sniffly i'm so relieved and happy.
