thanksgiving chez moi
Nov. 29th, 2002 01:32 pmhaha. it's 1:30 and it feels like 9. perhaps because i didn't even open my eyes til 11ish. yesterday went so well, but man, did it tucker me out. turns out, stressing and prepping beforehand paid off. in the morning, we could be reasonably calm about what remained to be done.
because i'm proud of all we managed, ( yesterday's menu. ) it was an absurd amount of food. perfect. everything looked nice. everyone seemed happy. i could get mushy, in fact, about how lovely it was having all these people i love in my house, around one big table. and i can't even count the number of times i heard comments like, 'very martha'. heee!!! perfect. may post some pics later.

harrimad_sol, hominidj and judy stayed around for a while, helped with some clean up. we watched this week's buffy (rarhahh!) and played some trivial pursuit and such. good times. when h and h left, rach did some e-mailing while judy and i watched some lotr dvd goodness. and i was falling asleep from all the eating and goodness. yup, then i did sleep for 11 hours or so. and now it's almost 2 and i'm in my pjs and it's ok. i've made it through my friends page backup and bookmarked all the fic i need to read. and i read starbuckle's harry/ron and sat here, squeeing to myself for quite a while.
rach's mom and brother are coming over today. ::forced smile:: i just want to get back in bed and watch more dvd. i suppose i should go help rach with the dishes though. nice to be back here in lj-land after a day off. miss y'all.
