it's a two cups of coffee morning. not because i need to wake up so much as i deserve a treat. i just finished washing all of last night's dinner dishes. go me. i'm generally proud and pleased about that dinner. (if you think everyone loved that risotto as it was, camillafarfalla, try making it into cakes and frying it!*g*) it was wonderful to be together with lauren, claire, judy and the two of us. it's been months and months. we ate good food, talked, watched the great pumpkin (sorry, scott, i meant we had it on tape), claire acted like the superfreak she is - entertaining us with j-lo and eminem tunes and stories about potatoes and pumpkins at the mall, judy cried (the sad part), we all got sleepy in a little pile of cuddliness. ::sigh:: love them.

i'm so happy about claire lately. things are going well between us... consistently better than they have in years (i'm knocking on wood now). what a relief. she has a mad crush on a 39 year old married man. he's getting separated from his wife and claire's preparing to pounce. i think this is not good. only because i've met him and i think the only reason she's so crushy is because he is currently unavailable. he's much like the other men she's been with - meek, not as attractive or as smart as she is. she'll steamroll right over him. watch out, man.

and lauren has a cute new girlfriend. they're all kinds of sweet. she seems very happy.

i will now attempt to catch up on lj stuff... so much happens from one morning to the next...

good things. and also stupid things.

so, i was right about yesterday's church service. it was stupid, pointless and frustrating from a vegan perspective. actually, more like offensive. there was a responsive reading that i would paraphrase as: 'thank you animals, for giving of yourselves so we can eat and wear you as we will.' i decided not to participate in said reading. and the sermon was rambly and just generally badly written. though she did mention that the re director and i are both 'committed vegans' and, as such, may be in a better place to talk about animal related ethics than she. actually, yes, i think that's true. she was all it's something i should think about more whereas i'm more like i've been thinking about this for 13 years.

i am contemplating going out for a walk. haven't gotten much further than the contemplation stage yet though. hmmm...

did i mention? i have an interview on thursday for the job i want. yay! oh, hopeful day. need job need job. also, the paycheck i got for my leeetle job was much larger than anticipated. it's a good thing, as martha would say.

oooh. look at the time! i ought to get dressed. yes. i have things to do! like... knit! yes, i have to knit. for which one doesn't really need to get dressed, but... it would be handy for later on when i go to work and all.

oh no. yulch... i'm currently receiving a message from a woman from the baaaaad job interview. no! i won't work for you and you can't make me!!! evil. evil that they're calling and they might want me to work for them. oh, the bitter irony.
